Runa Bandyopadhyay
Runa Bandyopadhyay, a bilingual poet, essayist, translator and critiqueer in the New Poetry world of Bengal, India, a scientist by profession, but fully addicted to innovative experimental literature. As a critiqueer she invented a new genre in ‘recurring poetry’ and authored Nocturnal Whistle in English, Traveller to BookYard, Between the Lines, and Light-Travel of the Dark in Bengali. Apart from that, she authored four poetry books, two story books and two collections of hybrid essays in Bengali. She coedited the anthology Hardcore Kaurab-2 with poet Barin Ghosal in 2013 and Bridgeable Lines: An Anthology of Borderless World Poetry in 2019. She is a regular contributor in various Bengali/English literary journals, both in print and electronic media. Runa has translated numerous international poets bidirectional including Charles Bernstein, Murat Nemet-Nejat, Peter Gizzi, Mei-Mei Berssenbrugge, Barin Ghosal, Swadesh Sen, Alok Sarkar etc. She is the Contributing Editor for the magazine Dispatches from the Poetry War.
