Erin Castaldi

Erin has appeared in all of the top short form journals of our era. Some of them are: Akitsu Quarterly, Heron’s Nest, Presence, Blithe Spirit, Frogpond, Wales Haiku Journal, Modern Haiku, Alien Buddha Press, Chrysanthemum and Asahi Haikuist, Heron’s Nest, Asahi Haikuist, #FemKuMag, Blithe Spirit, ChaNo Keburi, Prune Juice, Hedgerow, tsuri-doro, Mayfly, Hedgerow, Failed Haiku and Japan Society; as well as at least a dozen anthologies. She has attended the International Haiku Conference 2019 in St. Albans U.K.. Erin has also participated in the previous two Haiku North America Conference’s, 2017 and 2019. Winning third place in the Wild Plum Haiku Contest 2019, she was nominated twice for a Touchstone Award for a single haiku in 2019 and 2021 and received an honorable mention in the Green Pencil Haiku Contest 2018, another at the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Haiku Contest 2020, as well as Honorable Mention in the Kaji Aso Studio International Haiku Contest 2021. She is the winner of Encircle Publications 12th Annual Chapbook Contest 2022. She has had work translated into Japanese, Croatian, Romanian, Italian, German and Chinese. Erin’s current positions include: Poet Laureate of the city of Somers Point, New Jersey and former Social Media Manager for The Haiku Society of America (HSA) the largest haiku organization in North America as well as Secretary for the United Haiku and Tanka Society. She recently edited the Haiku Society of America’s Member’s Anthology 2021. In a former life, she was employed as a Surveillance Officer in a large casino in Atlantic City and an Emergency Medical Technician(EMT). She currently operates a small business thriving nationally.
