Michael Taormina

Michael Taormina is Associate Professor of French literature in the Romance Languages Department at Hunter College. He has translated French poetry, plays and philosophy, and he has written criticism on the early seventeenth-century French poets François de Malherbe, Théophile de Viau, and Vincent Voiture. Although his poetry is for the most part unpublished, he has experimented with prose poetry, free verse in the tradition of dada and surrealism, and classical forms that explore poetic commonplaces.
