March in Jeju

The Wind, Félix Vallotton

Awkward gusts shove pedestrians,
elbow them and send their parcels flying,
whine around uncovered ears,
scatter leaves and roll rubbish,
rattle metal traffic signs,
make the street lights bounce,
and tear at blue construction scrims.
Chatty, blustery, self-confident, brash:
reckless teenaged winds in spring.
